Costs
Rates
In line with our philosophy of making musicians comfortable, our rates are relatively inexpensive. For most projects, the rate will be $20 per hour, of which a large portion goes towards purchasing and maintaining gear.
Some other costs of recording that you should be aware of:
Transportation / Setup
Because we travel to you, and cater to projects of all sizes, we do sometimes need to charge for costs related to transportation, and for set-up time. These charges are not usually necessary, and if required, will remain reasonable. Of course, all charges will be discussed and agreed to in advance.
Storage
Musicians and Recording Studios have always had to store / archive their work, with solutions ranging from magnetic wire, to tape, and now to hard disk. Because we record in a digital format, we also ask that you purchase an external hard drive (or preferably two) for storage (and back-up.)
Please contact us if you have any questions about drive specifications. Drives can be purchased just about anywhere; we've had good experiences with Pacific Pro Audio online, and Tekserve, locally. In order to encourage musicians to back-up their work, we generally do not charge for the time needed to perform back-ups.
